Friday night saw the glittering lights of the Pantages Theatre illuminate a different kind of excitement as the Hollywood Police Activities League (HPAL) hosted its much-anticipated Poker at the Pantages event. With hearts full of gratitude and chips stacked high, participants and supporters came together for an unforgettable evening of cards, camaraderie, and community spirit.
Over 120 attendees, including donors, players, spectators, and volunteers, gathered under the iconic marquee, all with a shared goal in mind: to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people in the community. And that they did, as Poker at the Pantages raised an impressive $31K for HPAL Youth Programs. This generous contribution ensures that more kids can benefit from essential programs like soccer, tutoring, mentoring, and martial arts throughout the year.
The evening was abuzz with excitement as players tested their luck and skill at the tables, vying for the coveted title of Poker Champion. Congratulations are in order for Asko, who emerged victorious as the Fall 2023 Poker Champion. But let’s not forget the other finalists who showcased their best poker faces and strategic prowess throughout the intense tournament play.
A round of applause is also due to our table hosts, including Hollywood Offices, Paramount Studios, The Pantages Theatre, RDEN Bar & Restaurant, and MBS Group, whose support helped make the event a success. Special thanks to LA Casino for orchestrating a seamless tournament experience, ensuring that everyone had a blast.
Of course, no event is complete without delicious fare, and we extend our gratitude to our restaurant partners: Fabiolus Cucina, El Floridita, Pinks, and St. Felix. Their culinary delights were a hit, fueling the fun-filled evening.
