Hollywood (November 3, 2022) The Hollywood Police Activities League (HPAL) celebrated their 25th Anniversary Gala—A Tribute to Kids, Cops, & Community. This private event and fundraiser raised over $200,000 to support and strengthen our Hollywood community by connecting kids and cops through mentorship, athletics, impact programs, tutoring, leadership, and much more!
The 2022 Annual Hollywood PAL Awards Gala showcased an incredible evening of music, dining, and awards presentations to Hollywood Community Leaders. We were proud to present Community Achievement Awards to LAPD Commander, Steven Lurie, and RD Whittington, former PAL board member and star of the new hit show, “Million Dollar Wheels.” Our special Heart of Hollywood Award went to Wally Moran, PAL board member and General Manager of Wood & Vine Restaurant.
As HPAL’s first gala in over three years, it was a huge success. Guests and VIPs enjoyed cocktails, socialized, listened to DJ Luis, and checked out the auction before gathering in the main room to begin dining and kick off the awards celebration. Throughout the evening, they heard stories, saw videos and joined in laughter and applause as fellow community members, officers, and young people were recognized. Attendees jumped in on bidding wars for unique auction items including a private tour of the Hollywood Sign and an LAPD Helicopter Ride. As the evening came to a close, everyone enjoyed a grab and go snack waiting at the valet – hot dogs from Pink’s, cookies from St. Felix and water from blk International.
